Fine White Porcelain Pearl Pot - Triple

Made during my ceramic residency in Jingdezhen 2023. I hand built the original form, created a mould and then made a series of slip cast pots.

The Mother of Pearl is created by a coating of gold lacquer being fired in a kiln at 800 degrees over 6 hours. It alchemises into the opalescent mother-of-pearl finish.

Each piece has unique colouring due to the differing temperatures in the kiln. There are two variations of the Triple Pearl Pot: Rainbow and Light Rainbow.
